Why We Do This
Generations rarely share space
Much of daily life is organized by age: school, work, retirement. Outside their own families, young people and older adults have few natural chances to spend real time together.
That means stories, skills and perspectives that could be passed on often aren't.
Proximity isn't connection
Putting youth and older adults in the same room doesn't guarantee they'll connect. Without structure, visits can become one-sided, with one group helping and the other being helped.
Connection comes from having a reason to work together, ask questions and learn from each other. That's what we design for.
Our Approach: Designed Experiences
Loopd designs and facilitates programs where both generations contribute. Every session is planned around a shared goal, with roles, prompts and activities that give participants something to do together.
