Our Programs

Three program themes, each delivered as a one-time experience, a series or an ongoing partnership. Activities are the starting point; the program is how participants work, learn and share together.

Create

Create together.

Creative experiences give generations a shared space to make, experiment and express themselves.

Why it works across generations

Participants don't work side by side. They plan, make decisions and build one piece together. The work gives people who have just met something to talk about, and ends with a shared result they can display.

Example programs

  • Shared Canvas
  • Stories in Colour

Connect

Connect through shared experiences.

Experiences designed to build relationships, confidence and connection between generations.

Why it works across generations

Technology is often the reason to sit down together, but the relationship is the point. Older adults set the agenda with the questions that matter to them. Youth practise patience, teaching and leadership, and often find themselves being mentored in return.

Digital skills are one part of Connect. Mentorship and skills-based sessions work just as well without a screen.

Share

Share stories, knowledge and perspectives.

Intergenerational experiences create opportunities for young people and older adults to exchange stories, knowledge, culture and perspectives.

Why it works across generations

Older adults aren't recipients in these sessions. They're the experts on their own lives, work and communities. Youth come prepared to listen and ask good questions, and bring their own perspectives in return. Both leave knowing something they didn't before.

We co-design Share programs with cultural, faith-based and community organizations, so the stories are told in the community's own words and led by its own members.
